Warangal Durries is an Exclusive GI of Telangana: The weaving of Warangal Durries is a century-old craft and the skills are passed from one generation to another. It is unique to the Kothawada region of Telangana. The rugs are used for various purposes such as offering namaaz, and asana for sitting, sleeping, wall hanging, doormats, etc. Warangal Durries are made of cotton yarns, jute yarns, or a blend of both. The cotton yarns are mainly obtained from Telangana and Tamil Nadu. Warangal Durries is an Exclusive GI of Telangana and was awarded a GI certification in 2018.
