Ganjifa cards are an ancient time playing card set, playing by Kings and their nobles. A famous king of Mysore brought this art to South India. In Mysore, these cards are called "Chadha" where each card has its own background of Hindu Mythology, consisting of Gods and Goddesses.
The cards are generally circular and sometimes rectangular in shape with lacquered backs with exquisite paintings on them. Ganjifa Cards of Mysore Of Karnataka received the Geographical Indication of India tag on 28th March 2008.
