Aranmula, a small town in the Indian state of Kerala, is where the metal-alloy mirror known as Aranmula Kannadi (Malayalam) or the Aranmula mirror is created. It is a metal-alloy mirror, or front surface reflection mirror, as opposed to the traditional "silvered" glass mirrors, which removes secondary reflections and aberrations common with rear surface mirrors.

The Aranmula Kannadi Mirror is renowned for its beauty and smoothness. This style is renowned for symbolising boundless wealth and abundance in life as well as good fortune, success, and regal tradition in the home and workplace.

The mirror is distinctive because it is not composed of glass. To create the alloy's reflecting surface, the precise metals are combined with copper and tin before being polished for several days in a row. The inner surface of a typical mirror is where the picture is produced. Yet, in Aranmula Kannadi, light can be reflected off the exterior surface (specifically, from polished metal surface), providing a perfect image. Normally, the mirror is stored at ambient temperature, away from sources of heat and dust.

This product is entirely made by hand. There are no machines used in its production.
